training around injuries
515 replied to Flora's topic in Muay Thai Technique, Training and Fighting Questions
Good that you keep going! You could add some box jumps also. Search on Google for plyometrics, you will find a lot of fun stuff you can do. :D -
If you are in the possibility to go to ActionZone I would advise you to go there, yes. You can design your own short if you want to (it takes 2-4 weeks to make it, under normal conditions) and you can pick the colors from a sample book. Or if you want something specific you can mail them before going there so it is in-stock.

Same here. Also getting more information about the laser operation. I normally wear glasses in my daily life but for training I just take them off (I never ever tried lenses). But it would be easier without the glasses (also for working life).

First Timer Questions - Training In Thailand
515 replied to Micc's topic in Thailand Culture Experiences & POVs
If you have 3 days I would advise you to visit the Chatuchak Weekend Market also if you can, it's a really nice one (but only opened in the weekends also). I'm leaving the 16th January in the early morning, back to the cold Belgium by than, so yeah maybe we can meet up for some foods or training :D and mostly I will stay in BKK maybe around new year a short trip to Khon Kaen. -
First Timer Questions - Training In Thailand

You will have a great time, I'm sure!! When are you going to visit Thailand? You visit BKK first or go straight to Phuket? If you have to opportunity to be around BKK on a Sunday you can visit the channel 7 fights, for free. It's really nice (or you can watch them online/on TV, as long as you are in Thailand  ). I'm also happy to be in Thailand soon :sorcerer: (21 December - 16 January). -

Who great!! Goodluck, enjoy it and train like crazy :D

Not much people, who didn't experience it also, will understand that feeling! I also had some difficult times and MT was also the thing to get me through it! I also didn't want to wake up in the morning, didn't want to do anything but firstly forced myself to keep going to the gym! And that felt great!! Clearing my mind, trying to think about nothing, feel nothing just pushing my body over it's limit and train like crazy. Thanks for being their, Muay Thai.

I only use it before a fight, very occasionally if I'm really stiff but mostly only before a fight. I like it than if it gets rubbed in well with a massage, feels good :)

Did you ever took a week (or two) off from heavy training? Did you change anything else in your week schedule? And how does your training schedule looks like?

Yeah it was a good fight, to bad they stopped it so early (without the corner getting a chance to fix it) for such a small cut, you are totally right in Thailand the fun and cheering just started than :D But it was a good fight to see. It was nice meeting you, Nick! Maybe I visit for some training soon.

For sure you should do it! It's a great experience and a lot of people over there speak at least a bit of English (some taxi-drivers may act like they don't speak or understand English, just grab another one ;) same thing when they don't want to use the taxi-meter, but in BKK they all used it last time). Just use your brains; if it looks to good to be true, it mostly is! If you don't trust anything/or don't want to do it, just don't do it. If you arrive at the airport and know the place where you are going to you can use the public transportation also, it's cheap and works very well (and got A/C haha) If you know the place where you stay you can search (or ask it here, for some help) wich BTS/MRT station is the closest by and take a taxi from there to your final destination.

Yeah ActionZone is the place to be! A small store with a lot of stuff and sharp prices and if you buy enough you often get an extra discount. To be sure they have everything you want you can mail them in advance and they will arrange it (King, TopKing, Twins, Fairtex).
