  2. I think Age, nowadays with diets and exercise and new technologies, is not a realy good metric anymore. I know guys in their 40s absolutely smashing it and guys in their 20s being in pain. Each body is different, each mind is different as well. If you take care of your body, train correctly, have a good lifestyle and diet, the only limitation is when your body says "Stop man, it's over". If you feel good, resistant, energetic, don't worry about age. I began Muay Thai 3 months ago and I turned 29 last month. My goal is to have at least a professional fight in Thailand. So I might be old for competition standards, but if I want it, I'll deliver.

  5. Hi Sylvie I have seen several of your posts on your trips to Thailand and what I am really interested in is Phra Rahu.and your experiences with this deity. I myself have been very pulled towards him and the connection is just there. However, many are afraid of him. I am also a westerner, Scottish, working out how I relate to Phra Rahu. Thanks Dave

  6. Hello Looking for advice/videos/patreon videos on how control the ring, stay off the ropes, cutting off the ring and creating angles. Thanks very much

  7. There all kinds of means of ring control, it really depends on your fighting style. But, for an advancing fighter Yodkhunpon's pressuring gallop footwork is a thing of beauty, and a wonderful tool to have:

  9. Nothing bad about asking for some rest, especially if you are sore and feel pain. It is better to let go for some days while your neck fully recovers. And I think it might be from the Pad Holding, especially for bigger/stronger partner. I had the same issue but in my lower back (I'm taller than the rest of my class, 6'1). As many said on this feed, try to stay relax when the kick is coming. If you hold the pad correctly, it might shake you a bit but it won't hurt you.

  11. Hi Hanna, I think it is important to point out that the UFC is essentially a company, and its goal is to generate revenue. I've been a UFC fan for years but nowadays, it is all about money and promotion. The only fighter I follow is Francis Ngannou for his story. Now, to get more into detail about your question on agressivness and style: Muay Thai, in my opinion, is agressive but in the dominant sense. It is a way to put pressure on your opponent and also get the narrative of the fight in your favour. However, in the UFC or MMA in general, fighters usually are much more agressive as the point system is totally different. Judges usually favour the one with more hits or more initiative. I also think the UFC is much less respectfull than traditionnal Muay Thai fights, and all that may make it look like it is more violent.

  12. So on these tapes, there are 4 different workouts with two versions (10x2 minute rounds and 7x3 minute rounds, both with 1 min breaks). So each one is a 30 min workout. In each tape Bas calls out combos with prompts, like "4" for jab-cross-hook-cross, or "2" for jab-cross. On the thai boxing tape you follow the last punch with a kick or knee from the opposite side. I like to use them for shadowboxing or on the heavy bag. He calls them out faster than is comfortable for me and as you can tell from that video he's got a certain energy to him that gets me hyped. Its nice because there is a structure to it that I can't always enforce on myself in real time if I'm making it up as I go, or maybe after a long day of work I just want to dump any mental/physical energy left in me into some rounds on the bag.

  13. So many fighters signed and so many fight cards through the year, means the good fights are way more spaced out now than ever before. So you'll get a good headlining match up and the rest you could take it or leave it. Back in the day there weren't as many cards so their business model was to stack the deck so the whole main event and even prelims were solid, and the thing would sell.

  16. He's actually really shy about the camera, and we've hardly filmed him because of it. We definitely want him in the archive, because it's a historic record, but it would have to be done differently than any other entry, simply because he works so much with Sylvie, and 99% of it is just grinding, very slow cook But, thank you for the suggestion, it's good to be reminded. Maybe instead of one hour session, we could maybe film small segments over time and put them all together.
