This forum is still brand new and there's lots of tweaks and adjustments to be made, so please do us a favor and alert us to anything that isn't working or is confusing, etc. This section is the "comments box" so to speak, so let us know of any bugs, errors, improvements, etc.  We'll delete the comments when the issue is resolved, so don't be shy to post numerous times if you run into different things. Comment as you go. 

Things I've had trouble with so far are: at times double posting because it seemed like my comment didn't post, and also that My Media button on the edit screen that was confusing.

You can also private message me in the forum here on my profile.

Only thing I have seen so far is a strange flashing/screen tearing. Seems to happening mostly while pages are loading, but a little bit once it is fully loaded as well. I'm viewing the forum on an Android device; perhaps this is a Flash related issue?

When you are replying to a thread and somebody posts a reply in the meantime, there is a pop-up notification which offers you to see the new reply. However when you click on it, nothing happens.

When I go to "New content" and click on the topic it brings me to the page, but it starts at the head. It would be cool if it would scroll down automagically to the new unread post.

I also didn't notice if the unread content is marked differently in the thread. Is it even possible?

If you click on the little black circle/conversation symbol next to the topic thread it should bring you to the newest post. If you hover over it, a message pops up that says " go to first unread post".

I also just explored that if you click on the little icon in the middle - between the topic's title and other stuff it shows the first and last post! :D

Hey Rosy, Sylvie put up a Forum Features and How to Use them Post that describes it. Basically the photo has to be uploaded somewhere else on the Internet. You take the url of the photo and paste it in the field that shows when you click the picture icon on a post.

Does anyone else notice the background scrolling horizontally? Not sure if it's just the page refreshing itself.

 

That may be the color change of the background? On the Chrome browser it shows as a line that moves across the screen. but on Firefox for instance it's just a color gradation. Or do you see something else?

I'm using Chrome with the black background and every so often a vertical line scrolls across the screen. Sounds like it's normal for the browser I'm using.

Some people have experienced slow page load times on Chrome. In one instance upgrading to Chrome's latest version improved Chrome performance. Personally I see some sluggishness on Chrome (vs Explorer and Firefox), but nothing heavy. More that Chrome eats up CPU at a high rate.

I did some Googling around and found this very interesting article on how to speed up Chrome: Quick Fix For Your Slow Chrome Browser - I made this change on Chrome and it seemed to really speed up the load time, anecdotally so far.

The article explains it, but you basically go into Settings>Show Advanced Settings and uncheck this box (below) and Restart Chrome. It may seem counter intuitive to uncheck acceleration, but it does seem to help in some cases.

 I just tried this and updated Chrome at Kevin's suggestion. It seems to help. I also need to resist the temptation to have tons of tabs open at once which of course slows things down.

I want to change my avatar from the standard anonymous octopus to a little animation. Can I do this, and if so, what format? I've made is as an MP4 but the website doesn't like it. SHould it be a gif, or can't I have a moving avatar? Thanks!

 

I think it just has to be a photo. But I'm not sure, I haven't tried putting in a GIF. The GIF though, if it would work, would have to be hosted somewhere else.

      I think people don't even understand what it was that ONE did. It had almost nothing to do with small gloves, or rulesets or aggression or any of that. It bought up the most developed Thai talent (which was quite cheap, and many past prime) and then poured massive amounts of marketing dollars into taking over comms, and absolutely controlling messaging in very small information ecosystems, squeezing out almost all other content...and used this to create a constant "commercial" of how massive a success it was. They could have done comm control with a totally different combat sport product and have had the very same, if not even better success. It was about manufactured digital footprint.  So when Entertainment Muay Thai tries to model itself on ONE promotional rulesets and styles its actually copying the wrong thing. There is some benefit to mirroring the style and ethos that ONE already seeded the ecosystems with, because all that groundwork has been done, and it changed consumption...but it actually wasn't all the aggression, or the scoring kind or even the knockouts. It was much much more about the sizzle and not much to do about the steak. Its actually the systematic control over messaging, from SEO link farming and story planting, to buying up social media sharing circles and influencers, all the narrative shaping. Traditional Muay Thai as a product is probably even MORE amenable as a product than the made up sport that ONE created. It has massive valuation in terms of depth of complexity (deeper retention investment), historical material (narratives to be driven), and overall skill level. Trad Muay Thai as it bent toward Entertainment versions has copied the wrong thing.

      from the same article above, this is one of the primary confusions about traditional Muay Thai...it is not primarily "labor". As Stiegler conditions the difference it is "work" as it involves the "techniques of the self and others" and leads to the "trans-formatio of oneself" and others. In this sense it is vital as a form of work in the field of potential violence.

      The first fight between Poot Lorlek and Posai Sittiboonlert was recently uploaded to youtube. Posai is one of the earliest great Muay Khao fighters and influential to Dieselnoi, but there's very little footage of him. Poot is one of the GOATs and one of Posai's best wins, it's really cool to see how Posai's style looked against another elite fighter.

      Yeah, this is certainly possible. Thanks! I just like the idea of a training camp pre-fight because of focus and getting more "locked in".. Do you know of any high level gyms in europe you would recommend?

      You could just pick a high-level gym in a European city, just live and train there for however long you want (a month?). Lots of gyms have morning and evening classes.

      Hi, i have a general question concerning Muay-Thai training camps, are there any serious ones in Europe at all? I know there are some for kickboxing in the Netherlands, but that's not interesting to me or what i aim for. I have found some regarding Muay-Thai in google searches, but what iv'e found seem to be only "retreats" with Muay-Thai on a level compareable to fitness-boxing, yoga or mindfullness.. So what i look for, but can't seem to find anywhere, are camps similar to those in Thailand. Grueling, high-intensity workouts with trainers who have actually fought and don't just do this as a hobby/fitness regime. A place where you can actually grow, improve technique and build strength and gas-tank with high intensity, not a vacation... No hate whatsoever to those who do fitness-boxing and attend retreats like these, i just find it VERY ODD that there ain't any training camps like those in Thailand out there, or perhaps i haven't looked good enough?..  Appericiate all responses, thank you!
