Today, I returned to the gym

Recommended Posts

It was awesome to be back pumping in my old gym.
They have been open for a couple weeks, but, I was waiting to see Covid case numbers decline in my county/region.
It's a small , 24/7 joint and I went during "off peak" hrs.

The few patrons working out there were spaced out and using provided wipes to keep things clean.
There was 1 middle aged female doing some lunges, stiff legged deads, etc in super set fashion in 1 corner by herself.
A could young bucks were benching and only stepped in to spot, as needed.
Another older dude ( like me) was doing some cross fit rope shakes and similar exercises in that area.

I did some moderate wt cable crosses superset with hammer incline presses for 3 cycles
This was followed by 3 sets of 10 reps on the horizontal seated bench press.

For tris , I did 3 sets of 10 reps each on push downs and overhead cable pulls.
Finished up with a couple sets of crunches and 25 min cardio on the treadmill.

I'll go back for a 2nd session later tonight and hit back with some more abs and cardio work.

Hot damn, it feels f'n great just to be back in there pumping it out .

Exactly the same I had yesterday!
During the last weeks I was still training "one on one" whenever possible, but yesterday was again the normal group training grind.
These days groups up to 10 are allowed over here.

Going 15km by bike to training, train hard for 2hrs and go the same way back - it feels so damn great to get the grind again!!

Thank you for opening up this positive thread! 🙂

Congratulations on your return to the gym! It's amazing how many ways it's hard to be away from it, both in that it's routine but it's also something that makes you feel good. I also like that you were interested to see what everyone else was doing, because I think we lose interest in that when things are allowed to be more routine.

I think that it's going to be very different here in Thailand when things are allowed to open up again. I don't know what it will look like in terms of safe practices, obviously there will be precautions. But it's going to be taking place in waves. They have to open airports, people have to feel confident, people have to return to work, fights have to resume.... there are so many missing pieces. Some fitness gyms have been allowed to open in a kind of very minimal way already, but I don't belong to any of those so I can't say what it looks like. I do see more people out running and cycling than I used to though.

thank you so much, yeah exactly we all lose interest in that when things are allowed to be more routine. hopefully Thailand will also follow the guidelines of WHO for the betterment of their people and you will also gonna fight again 😛 i think most countries are opening things in waves and that is good to control Pandemic, i tried very hard to get the same fitness during lock down which i used to have while in the gym days.
cycling is not my type 😛
