  1. Hi Ling bah

I just looked at flights and realised that during my planned visit the only direct flights go to bangkok, so in order to save some time and money I am planning to go there. Can you tell me a little more about

Most flights go to Bangkok, and most of the time that is the cheapest also.

But if you really want to train on an other place you can easy (and relative cheap) get there.

You can look up some prices on http://www.airasia.com/ot/en/home.page?cid=1if you want to.

  2. I'm about to make a huge generalization, but one of the biggest differences I've noticed between men/women at my gym at the beginner-intermediate level is that women focus a lot of technique but are afraid of their power with new partners, and men are so focused on power over technique. For both genders though, when people start becoming more comfortable with their partners/gym environment, they tend to even it out.

I also noticed that men try to make up for the lack of technique by using power in their moves (also in sparring). Instead of keeping it calm and build a solid base first.

Thanks and that's so cool that you're going, too! I'm going 14 January - 31 January. First we arrive in BKK and have 3 days to sightsee, then I'm off to Phuket on my own to train for 2 weeks. At the end of the trip I'm going back to BKK and have one day all to myself - and it's a Sunday, I checked it now, so maybe I will visit the channel 7 fights! :D

Will you be staying in BKK? Maybe we can meet for dinner or coffee or whatever it is you meet for in Thailand :D which will be pretty funny to meet in Thailand when we're both from Europe :D

If you have 3 days I would advise you to visit the Chatuchak Weekend Market also if you can, it's a really nice one (but only opened in the weekends also).
I'm leaving the 16th January in the early morning, back to the cold Belgium by than, so yeah maybe we can meet up for some foods or training :D and mostly I will stay in BKK maybe around new year a short trip to Khon Kaen.

  4. You will have a great time, I'm sure!!

When are you going to visit Thailand? You visit BKK first or go straight to Phuket?
If you have to opportunity to be around BKK on a Sunday you can visit the channel 7 fights, for free. It's really nice (or you can watch them online/on TV, as long as you are in Thailand  ).

I'm also happy to be in Thailand soon :sorcerer:  (21 December - 16 January).

  6. Hi!! Thanks for the good advice! I really do feel that it is a good place for me and I get to spar, too. I am grateful for all the advice and encouragement and it means a lot because my new trainer is willing to let me fight in an amateur competition after December, like in 2016. :)

Who great!! Goodluck, enjoy it and train like crazy :D

  7. Obviously she couldn't understand, that the only thing making me wanna wake up in the morning is going to the gym.

Not much people, who didn't experience it also, will understand that feeling!

I also had some difficult times and MT was also the thing to get me through it! I also didn't want to wake up in the morning, didn't want to do anything but firstly forced myself to keep going to the gym! And that felt great!! Clearing my mind, trying to think about nothing, feel nothing just pushing my body over it's limit and train like crazy.
Thanks for being their, Muay Thai.

  8. Just short time on this place, and yesterday saw first member on a fight event  "main fight " our gyms vs each other...

Nice fight ,both fighters in good shape but fight stopped due to a minor cut on the eye...would be another story if in Thailand... Any way NICE to have met you 515 :-)

    See you next time.

    Nick

Yeah it was a good fight, to bad they stopped it so early (without the corner getting a chance to fix it) for such a small cut, you are totally right in Thailand the fun and cheering just started than :D But it was a good fight to see.

It was nice meeting you, Nick!

Maybe I visit for some training soon.

  9. For sure you should do it! It's a great experience and a lot of people over there speak at least a bit of English (some taxi-drivers may act like they don't speak or understand English, just grab another one ;) same thing when they don't want to use the taxi-meter, but in BKK they all used it last time).

Just use your brains; if it looks to good to be true, it mostly is! If you don't trust anything/or don't want to do it, just don't do it.

If you arrive at the airport and know the place where you are going to you can use the public transportation also, it's cheap and works very well (and got A/C haha) If you know the place where you stay you can search (or ask it here, for some help) wich BTS/MRT station is the closest by and take a taxi from there to your final destination.
